Berekum West MP allocates GH¢200,000 for needy students

Berekum (Bono), Jan.06, GNA – Mr. Dickson Kwabena Kyere-Duah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West has allocated GH¢200,000 from his MP’s Education Fund to support needy but brilliant students pursuing tertiary education in the district.   

 The initiative was announced at a gathering at Jinijini, near Berekum in the Bono Region, attended by local chiefs, NDC party executives, and the District Chief Executive, Mr. Collins Asomah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area.  

The MP emphasized his commitment to educational development and mentioned that 42 students have already benefited from his fund.   

He said the GH¢200,000 allocation would support students, including one person studying medicine, till they graduate at the tertiary level.  

Mr. Kyere-Duah also assured constituents that the Jinijini-Sampa highway construction would commence very soon, with machinery expected on site soon as part of the Big Push project to enhance market accessibility, facilitate trade and improve health in the area.  

Mr .Asomah, the DCE highlighted the contributions of the district, including school infrastructure development, street lighting and ongoing construction of a CHIP compound in fulfilment of His promise.
