Bassa (Bono East) Jan 6, GNA – Nana Owusu Sakyi III, the Paramount Chief of Bassa Traditional Council has appealed to the government to fix the dilapidated Atebubu to Kajeji road in the sene East District of the Bono East Region with the Big Push Initiative.
Speaking at the Bassa Brebi Nkyifie Yam Festival, the chief stated that the poor road condition was affecting all businesses in the community.
He urged the government to build a health facility at Bassa Community senior High School (SHS) to provide first aid to students who may have health conditions.
Nana Owusu Sakyi III also commended the government for stabilizing the economy and called for support to address the challenges faced by farmers and traders in the area.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, National chairman of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) promised to discuss all the challenges and appeals of the people in the area with the President of the nation and commended the Sene East and West people for their loyalty to the NDC Party since the year 1992.
The expressed confidence that the current NDC government has no excuse to fail the people of the area in terms of development.
The Minister for Religious and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed, also congratulated the people of Bassa and urged MMDCEs to take sanitation seriously involving chiefs in National Sanitation Day initiatives to beautify the communities all the time.
Meanwhile, Bono East Regional Minister, Hon. Francis Owusu Antwi, assured farmers of government support to buy their produce, calling on chiefs to help resolve chieftaincy disputes in the region.
