Takoradi, Jan. 29, GNA – Mr Okatakyi Amankwa Afrifa, the Western Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says about 14,132 eligible voters will go to the polls in the Party’s Presidential primaries in the Western Region.

A total of 21 polling stations had been crafted from the 17 constituencies within the Region for the polls.

The Amenfi East, Prestea Huni Valley, Tarkwa Nsuaem and Jomoro constituencies have two polling centres each, while the remaining 13 constituencies have a polling centre each.

The Party secretary told the Ghana News Agency that logistical arrangements: voting materials, security, agents among others were apt, to ensure a smooth operation come Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The election would take place in centres including Shama, Effia, Essikado-Ketan, Kwesimintsim, Sekondi, Wassa East, Takoradi, Mpohor and Ahanta West, Amenfi West, Ellembelle, Evalue -Ajomoro- Gwira and  Amenfi Central.

Saturday’s Presidential primaries of the Party had two main faces standing out : Dr Bawumia, an Economist and a former Vice President of Ghana and Mr Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, a recognised entrepreneur, former Assin MP, and key figure in the party.

While others believe continuity with Dr Bawumia for a better chance come the Election 2028, others hold the view that change is possible for growth and development.
