Ho (V/R), Jan 27, GNA – About 12,360 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta Region are expected to vote in the party’s presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31.
Mr Makafui Kofi Woanya, Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP, told the Ghana News Agency that all arrangements had been finalised to ensure a smooth and credible process.
He said the Electoral Commission would conduct the exercise, with the Ghana Police Service providing security before, during and after the polls.
Mr Woanya added that campaigning by aspirants would officially end on January 29, in line with party rules, and expressed confidence in a peaceful exercise across the region.
Nationwide, about 211,849 delegates are expected to take part in the primaries, which are being coordinated by Mr Joseph Osei-Owusu, Chairman of the party’s Presidential Elections Committee.
