Aboso (W/R), Jan. 26, GNA – The Reverend Stephen Martinson, a retired Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools for the Western and Western North Regions, has been inducted into office as the Aboso District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG).

The induction service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Joseph Apea Asamoah, Chairperson of the Western Presbytery of the PCG, was held at the Victory Congregation, Aboso, in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality. The event was attended by pastors, traditional rulers, family members, friends, and loved ones.

Delivering a sermon titled “Call into Light and United for God’s Mission”, Rev. Dr. Asamoah emphasized that unity among members and leaders was essential for the church to fulfill its mission.

He explained that churches that flourished had unity as their backbone, adding, “Whenever the church is united, the Spirit of the Lor.d is with them, guiding their mission. But when they are divided, clearly the Spirit of God will not work among them, and achieving the church’s mission becomes difficult.”

Rev. Dr. Asamoah urged leaders to exercise patience with members, noting that people joined the church voluntarily and needed to be treated with care to win their support. He further advised members to submit to leadership to achieve the church’s vision.

He exhorted the newly inducted minister to remain humble and serve faithfully.

Rev. Martinson, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the PCG for the confidence reposed in him and appealed for prayers to enable him to serve effectively. He called on the congregation to cooperate with him and support initiatives aimed at uplifting the image of the church.
