Accra, Jan. 13, GNA – Ghanaian referee Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea will take charge of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final encounter between Nigeria and hosts Morocco on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced.
Laryea, regarded as one of the continent’s most experienced officials, would lead the officiating team for the crunch encounter at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat.
South Africa’s Zakhele Siwela and Lesotho’s Souru Phatsoane would serve as assistant referees, while Mozambique’s Arsenio Maringule is the fourth official.
Rwanda’s Samuel Uwikunda has been appointed as reserve referee.
The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties would be handled by South Africa’s Abongile Tom, supported by Tunisia’s Haythem Guirat and Kenya’s Stephen Onyango Yiembe.
Ethiopia’s Lidya Tafesse Abebe would act as referee assessor.
Nigeria are seeking their fourth title, while Morocco aim to capitalise on home advantage as they bid to win their second continental title.
