University of Ghana wins best University in practical Agriculture

Takoradi, Dec. 6, GNA – The University of Ghana, through its School of Agriculture, has been adjudged the National Best University in Practical Agriculture at the 41st National Farmers’ Day Celebration.  

The award package included a tractor with implements, two motorised jet sprayers, five cutlasses, five bags of 30kg compost fortifier, five knapsack sprayers, boxes of Wellington boots, and assorted chemicals.  

Prof. Daniel Adu Ankrah of the School of Agriculture told the Ghana News Agency that the award was received by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (ASA), Prof. Gordon Awandare, accompanied by the Dean of the School of Agriculture, Prof. Eric Nartey, as well as other senior officials and staff.  

This year’s National Farmers’ Day was held under the theme: “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future!”  

An occasion that honoured many farmers and institutions across Ghana for keeping the food basket of the country intact.
