Kadjebi (O/R), Dec. 04, GNA – Mr Abdul Rahim Rashid and Mr Francis Kudjo Mensah, residents of Nsuta-Buem in the Jasikan Municipality and Gyamonome in the Kadjebi District, lost their lives on Monday evening December 1, when the motorbike they were riding from Atta Krom crashed into a parked combine harvester near Nsuta-Buem.

The tragic incident has plunged the Nsuta-Buem community into deep mourning, with family members, friends, and residents struggling to come to terms with the sudden deaths.

Mr Rashid, a Muslim, was laid to rest on Tuesday, December 2, in line with Islamic customs, while preparations are being made for Mr Mensah’s burial on Thursday, December 04, at Gyamonome, a farming community in the Kadjebi district.

Mr Mathias Komla Bassayi, Assemblyman for the Nsuta West Electoral Area, described the accident as “pathetic and sorrowful” when speaking to the Ghana News Agency.

He stressed that the loss of two hardworking barbers/farmers was a major blow to the community.

He urged motorcyclists and road users to exercise extreme caution, especially as the Christmas festivities approached, noting that increased movement during the season often results in avoidable accidents.

Mr Bassayi appealed to authorities and community members to ensure that heavy machinery and vehicles were properly parked off-road to prevent similar tragedies.
