Ho, Dec. 17, 2025, GNA – Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister has reviewed progress of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative, urging stronger stakeholder collaboration and faster processes for effective regional implementation.
The Volta Regional Minister has met officials of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) at the Regional Coordinating Council to assess the current status of the programme in the region.
The meeting brought together Mr Kwadwo Nyanpon Aboagye, Deputy National DRIP Coordinator, and Mr Elliot Wogbe, the Volta Regional DRIP Coordinator, to examine progress made and challenges affecting smooth implementation.
Addressing the meeting, Mr Gunu emphasised the need for closer collaboration among all stakeholders involved in the programme.
“We must strengthen coordination and expedite outstanding processes to ensure timely delivery,” he said.
The Regional Minister noted that the success of the DRIP programme was a direct reflection of government’s performance and public credibility. “Diligence, dedication and proper maintenance must remain central to our work if we are to sustain public confidence and deliver meaningful impact,” he stressed.
He urged implementing officers to pay attention to maintenance culture to guarantee the long-term benefits of completed road projects across the region.
In his response, Mr Aboagye expressed appreciation for the engagement with the Regional Minister and assured him of the team’s commitment.
“We are grateful for the guidance and will uphold a strong maintenance culture to ensure the programme’s sustainability,” he said.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from both regional and national coordinators to work closely with stakeholders to advance the effective rollout of the DRIP Programme in the Volta Region.
