Tsito (V/R), Dec. 01, GNA – Mr Senah Vuley, the General Manager of DDP Outdoor Limited, an out-of-home advertising company, has urged students to commit to joining their old students’ associations to benefit from mentorship, guidance and broader professional networks.
Mr Vuley said membership in such Associations fostered a sense of belonging, strengthened unity, and provided students with opportunities to expand their social and professional circles.
He noted that the relationships built through alumni networks often opened doors for career opportunities and personal development support that students would had otherwise missed.
Mr Vuley made the call while delivering the keynote address at the Tsito Senior High Technical School Old Students Association’s (TSISTOSA) 2025 Homecoming event held at the school located in the Ho West District of the Volta Region.
The General Manager encouraged the students to believe in their potential, stressing that self-doubt was one of the greatest obstacles to success.
He observed that many young people had lost opportunities not because of a lack of ability, but because they underestimated their strengths.
Mr Vuley, who spoke on the theme: “Empowering legacy, enriching future: the role of the Old Students in shaping secondary education,” advised the students to cultivate love for their school, emphasising that loyalty and unity were essential in building strong alumni institutions.
He cautioned them against discrimination and negative comparisons among themselves, reminding them that “all hands are not equal” and that every individual contributed uniquely to the growth of the school community.
He also encouraged the culture of giving back, noting that generosity towards one’s alma mater often yielded even greater returns, saying the progress of every educational institution depended significantly on the willingness of its past and present students to support it.
Mr Vuley appealed to the students to uphold the image of Tsito SHTS by avoiding acts that could tarnish the reputation of the school.
He stressed that the legacy and standing of any institution were carried forward by its students, and therefore they must conduct themselves with discipline and integrity both within and outside the school environment.
The event, which brought together past students, staff and current students, highlighted the importance of alumni involvement in school development and the need to strengthen the bond between generations of learners.
