GIFEC Administrator visits Ascend Digital Solutions ahead of new RTP site rollout 

Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – Mr Tanko Rashid-Computer, the Administrator of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has paid a  working visit to the warehouse and operational hub of Ascend Digital Solutions. 

Ascend Digital Solutions is the implementing partner for the Ghana Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project (GRT&DIP).  

The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to assess the level of preparedness for the rollout of a new batch of Rural Telephony Project (RTP) sites across the country. 

The visit focused on reviewing equipment availability, deployment logistics and overall readiness for the next phase of RTP installations. 

 The Administrator inspected storage facilities and engaged Ascend’s technical team on progress and timelines. 

The Administrator, accompanied by the Director of Operations and the Principal Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation, discussed operational coordination, quality assurance and monitoring strategies with Ascend’s project leads to ensure efficient and timely rollout. 

The Ascend Digital Solutions assured the team of their readiness and commitment to meeting all project timelines under the GRT&DIP.  

The visit strengthened collaboration toward advancing digital inclusion and expanding mobile network coverage to unserved and underserved communities across the country. 

The visit further highlighted government’s commitment to expanding rural connectivity and bridging the digital divide.  

Through the GRT&DIP, the government continues to invest in infrastructure to extend mobile network coverage to unserved and underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to essential digital services nationwide.
