Derma (Ahafo), Dec. 01, GNA – A total amount of GHS 50,000 was spent by the Derma Area Rural Bank (DARB), to improve security and education in its catchment areas, during the 2024 financial year.
These were contained in the report by Mr Isaac Agyei Buabeng, Chairman of the Board of Directors to the 38th Annual General Meeting of shareholders, held at Derma, in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region.
He indicated that the gesture, which formed part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility, saw the renovation and painting of the Bechem Divisional Command and the Duayaw Nkwanta Police Station, of the Ghana Police Service, respectively.
The DARB also renovated the Bechem Municipal Office Annex, of the Ghana Education Service, and undertook roofing of building for the Derma Senior High School; while providing computerized siren for the Terchire Senior High School, during the year under review.
Mr. Buabeng gave the assurance that the bank would continue to contribute to the transformation of communities in its catchment areas, to create an enabling environment for the bank to thrive.


The Chairman appealed to current and prospective shareholders to buy more shares, to enable the bank, among other things, put up a befitting headquarters as soon as possible.
He praised the bank’s management team, led by Messrs Gabriel Essandoh, Chief Executive Officer, and Martin Awisi, Head of Audit, and the entire staff for their commitment and sacrifices in the face of diverse challenges, to keep the DARB on its growth path, and urged them to keep up the spirit.
