Accra, Dec.3, GNA – The Christian Council of Ghana has extended its deepest condolences to the National Chief Imam and Grand Mufti of Ghana, Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and the Muslim community over the death of Alhaji Awaisu Bio Salisu.
Alhaji Bio Salisu was, until his death on Monday November 24, 2025, the Executive Secretary to the National Chief Imam.
“Even though we were aware of his months of ill health, our prayer and hope were that Allah would heal and restore him back to his duties,” the Council said.
In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday, signed by the General Secretary, Reverend Dr. Cyril G.K. Fayose, the Council said Alhaji Salisu would be fondly remembered for his commitment to deepening interfaith dialogue with the Christian Community on several platforms.
It said his numerous roles in facilitating the participation of the Office of the National Chief Imam on important national assignments involving the religious community would not be forgotten.
The Christian Council, It said, held the belief that all human beings came into the world from God for a purpose according to God’s own design and once the purpose was achieved in line with God’s will, all would return to God.
“Alhaji Bio Salifu has just returned back to Allah his creator! May Allah look upon his soul with kindness and grant him eternal bliss in the afterlife,” it added, while expressing sympathy to the bereaved family.
