Speaker of Parliament constructs children ward for Amponsakrom CHPS compound

Amponsahkrom, (Bono), Nov. 4, GNA-Alhaji Seidu Haruna, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Wenchi Constituency in the Bono Region, has cut the sod for work to commence on the construction of children’s ward at the Amponsakrom Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound in the constituency. 
 
Speaking at a ceremony at Amponsahkrom, Alhaji Harnuna explained that the construction of the male and female wards for the children aligned with the government reset Ghana agenda to strengthen healthcare systems in rural communities. 
 
He said the project was being funded by the Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to enhance patient care at the facility. 
 
Alhaji Haruna expressed appreciation to the Speaker for the project, saying on completion it would further enhanced the work environment for the health workers. 
 
Nana Asamoah Gyan II, the Chief of Amponsakrom, also thanked the government, the MP and the Speaker of Parliament for coming to the aid of the community. 
 
Meanwhile, the MP inaugurated a standard toilet facility for the Branam farming community in the constituency to improve sanitation and hygiene in the area. 
 
Alhaji Haruna told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that he funded the construction of the facility, which would greatly stem the outbreak of communicable diseases. 
 
The MP said he was dedicated to improving socio-economic livelihoods of the constituents, assuring to ensure that development projects were equally shared in the local communities. 
 
Mr Haruna said: “The facility will contribute to a healthier and more dignified living environment for the people of Branam”.
