Tel Aviv, Nov 18, (dpa/GNA) – An Israeli emergency service says, one man was killed in an attack in the West Bank on Tuesday.
He had stab wounds on his body, the Magen David Adom emergency service said. Several other people were injured, including a teenager.
The Times of Israel newspaper reported that a woman may have been accidentally injured during the incident, by shots fired by Israeli troops.
The Israeli military described it as a terrorist attack, that took place at an intersection between Bethlehem and Hebron in the southern part of the
occupied Palestinian territory.
It said soldiers had killed two suspected perpetrators, after a combined car-ramming and stabbing assault. Explosives were found in their vehicle.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah said both Palestinians were 18 years old. One was from the city of Hebron, the other from a town a little
further north.
Israeli media reported that a driver first rammed his car into a group of people. At least one person then got out of the vehicle and stabbed those
present.
The situation in the occupied West Bank has escalated since the massacre, carried out by militants from Hamas in Israel on October 7, 2023 and the
resulting Gaza war.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health says more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed there since then in Israeli military operations, armed clashes and
attacks. At the same time, radical Israeli settlers are increasingly attacking Palestinians in the region.
