Kumasi, Nov 14, GNA–The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service, has launched investigation into the circumstances that led to a fire outbreak at the 10-room residential quarters of the Jacobu Police in the Amansie central district.
The blazing fire, which swept through the facility on Thursday November 13, 2025, completely destroyed four of the rooms and their contents.
Fire fighters from Bekwai, who arrived at the scene at about 1225hours, after receiving a distress call, managed to prevent the fire from engulfing six out of the 10 rooms.


Divisional Officer (DO) II, Mr Peter Addai, Ashanti Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, in a statement after the incident, said despite the distance and the poor nature of the road, officers from the Bekwai Fire station managed to save the building from total destruction.
It said the crew, led by Station Officer (StnO) II, Mr Agyemang Duah, arrived at the scene at 1225 hours and brought the raging fire under control at 1234 hours and completely extinguished at 1328 hours.
There were no injuries or fatalities recorded and the contents of the six rooms were completely saved from destruction, according to the statement released.
