Accra, Nov. 17, GNA – The Ghana Energy Awards (GEA) Secretariat has announced the shortlist for the 9th edition of the Awards, following a rigorous evaluation of over 500 entries.
In a statement, the Secretariat described the submissions as including “a remarkable number of first-time submissions.”
It said the shortlist covers key categories such as Energy Personality of the Year, Chief Executive of the Year (Power and Petroleum), Chief Green Trailblazer Award, and Energy Sector Operational Resilience Award.
The statement said the evaluation process involved multi-stage reviews, validation exercises, and nationwide site inspections, jointly conducted by the Secretariat and the Awarding Panel to ensure “integrity, transparency and due diligence.”
“The robustness of the process reflects our commitment to fairness and excellence,” the Secretariat stated.
The 2025 Awards are being held under the theme, “Repositioning the Energy Sector as a Pillar of National Development,” which the organisers said highlights the importance of innovation, reform, and stronger economic linkages.
The Awards Night is scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel and will bring together policymakers, regulators, chief executives, and industry leaders “for an evening dedicated to celebrating transformational leadership.”
Organised by the Energy Media Group, the Awards are endorsed by the Ministry of Energy, allied agencies, and the World Energy Council, Ghana, with independent validation by Forvis Mazars and Casely Brooke Law Firm.
“The scheme continues to honour exceptional achievements while inspiring healthy competition and progressive thought leadership across the energy sector,” the statement added.
