Accra, Nov. 28, GNA – The Concerned Krobo Youth Group, an advocacy group, has commended President John Dramani Mahama the Police Council for extending the term of office of Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), by two years.
“This decision is a testament to the exceptional leadership and dedication IGP Yohuno has demonstrated throughout his illustrious career,” it said.
A statement jointly issued by Yakubu Ibrahim and Moses Tettey Dometey, the groups Convener and Secretary, respectively, said throughout Mr Yohuno’s career, he had held various significant positions to promote the mandate of Police Service.
These included Divisional Commander for Accra Central, Accra Regional Operations Commander, Deputy Accra Regional Commander, and Director-General of the Motor Traffic and Transport Directorate (MTTD).
“His exceptional service has earned him numerous awards, including the Grand Medal for his meritorious service in combating armed robbery and other criminal activities,” it said.
The statement said the extension of IGP Yohuno’s term was a well-deserved recognition of his unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order in Ghana.
“His leadership has been marked by a series of significant appointments and promotions, a testament to his capability and determination,” it said.
“As IGP, he continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership, and his continued service will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the Ghana Police Service.”
“On behalf of the Ga-Adangme people and the people of Ghana, we wish to congratulate IGP Yohuno on his well-deserved extension of service.”
