Bepoase (WN/R), Nov. 9, GNA – The Chiefs and people of Bepoase community in the Bodi District of the Western North Region have organised a fund-raising ceremony to construct an event centre in the area.
Addressing the gathering, Nana Eric Opoku, the Chief of the area, said the centre when completed would be used for community meetings, funeral rites, and other social events.
He gave a brief history of the community, stating that the people were Akwapims from the Eastern Region who had settled within that part of the Bodi District.
Nana Opoku, thus, appealed to philanthropists and benevolent bodies to contribute to making their dream of having a community event centre a reality.
He touched on other development needs of the community including; lack some social amenities like public toilets, schools and roads.
Nana Opoku called on the government to come to their aid and provide them with such facilities to help improve upon their living standards.
Mr Eric Frimpong, the Assembly Member of the area, informed the people that, the Member of Parliament of the area, Mr Sampson Ahi, and the Bodi District Chief Executive, Mr Stephen Baidoo, had promised to donate six packets of roofing sheets and 50 bags of cement for the start of the community event centre project.
He also told the people of Bepoase that plans were underway for the rehabilitation of the road from Bepoase to Sefwi Asanwinso.
