Kete-Krachi (O/R), Oct. 14, GNA- The Oti Region has officially launched the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP), an initiative aimed at empowering young Ghanaians with employable skills to promote self-reliance, create sustainable jobs, and address unemployment across the country.
The programme, introduced by the NDC administration under President John Dramani Mahama, seeks to equip the youth with practical skills to improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to national development.
The first batch of trainees in the Oti Region comprises 55 master craft persons and 275 apprentices, who have commenced training in various vocational and technical fields.
Speaking at the launch, the Oti Regional NAP Coordinator, Mr Michael Nyurekyo Mampah, expressed profound gratitude to President Mahama and the NDC government for what he described as a “life-changing intervention” for the youth.
Mr Mampah noted that the programme will play a critical role in reducing unemployment and transforming the future of young Ghanaians, adding that, the initiative would help bridge the skills gap and promote economic growth and development in the Oti Region.
He emphasised that the National Apprenticeship Programme was expected to make a lasting impact by providing young people with the technical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to gain employment or start their own businesses.
