Okadjakrom SHTS Biology Teacher interdicted over alleged sexual misconduct

Kadjebi (O/R), Oct. 3, GNA – Mr Richard Mfo, a Biology teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School (SHTS) in the Oti Region, has been interdicted following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a female student.

The incident reportedly occurred in the school’s science laboratory during the just-ended West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), and a video recording of the act has since gone viral on social media.

A source at the school, who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on condition of anonymity, revealed that some students, who suspected an inappropriate relationship between the teacher and the student secretly installed a camera at the window of the laboratory and captured the alleged incident.

The students involved in recording the footage were subsequently identified, arrested, and sanctioned by the school authorities.

However, according to the source, the students, displeased with the punishment meted out to them, released the video into the public domain.

The female student at the centre of the incident has since expressed remorse and pleaded with the public to desist from further sharing the video, citing damage to her reputation and emotional well-being.

Meanwhile, Mr Mfo’s interdiction is to allow for an independent investigation into the matter, as the Ghana Education Service and other relevant authorities take steps to address the issue.

GNA will follow up on the investigation and provide updates as they unfold.
