Bamiankor (W/R), Oct. 02, GNA – The Gwiraman Traditional Council has donated exercise books to the Nzema-East Municipal Assembly for distribution to schoolchildren in the Gwira area.

Awulae Angama-Tu Agyan, Paramount Chief of the Gwira area and President of the Gwiraman Traditional Council, made the donation on behalf of the Council during the launch of the Egila Yam Festival at Bamiankor in the Nzema-East Municipality of the Western Region.

According to the Paramount Chief, the gesture formed part of the Council’s contribution to complement the supply of educational materials in support of quality teaching and learning.

He recounted various interventions by the Traditional Council to improve facilities at Gwiraman Senior High School to enhance academic work.

Awulae Angama-Tu Agyan appealed to the government to address pressing educational needs of the area, including the provision of classroom blocks, teachers, and other essential inputs.

He expressed concern that teachers posted to Gwiraman Senior High School often sought transfers and urged the government to ensure the school received an adequate and stable teaching staff.

Receiving the books on behalf of the Education Directorate, Mr Herbert Kuah-Dickson, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nzema-East, expressed gratitude to the Gwiraman Traditional Council for its continuous support to education in the area.

He pledged the Assembly’s commitment to improving infrastructure to enhance quality education, adding that a portion of the District Assembly Common Fund would be dedicated to promoting education in Gwira.
