Accra, Oct. 28, GNA – The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) on Tuesday supported four of its member organisations with an office space to facilitate their work.
The office space located at the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, has furnished workstations where the four organisations can work, a toilet, a kitchen fitted with a microwave and a refrigerator.
In addition, the GFD will pay for their electricity and support them with Wi-Fi services till the organisations are able to be self-sustaining.
The beneficiary organisations are the Inclusive Family Alliance, the Burns Survivors organisation, Ghana Stammering Association and Sharecare Ghana

Mrs Rita Kusi Kyeremaa, Executive Director of the GFD handing over the facility to the organisations said the GFD was committed to strengthening disability organisations to enable them to function to their maximum capacity and make the needed impact.
She urged the organisations to work hard to become self-sustaining or be able to secure funding to support their operations so that other member organisations that need similar support could also benefit.
Mrs Hannah Awadzi, Executive Director of the Inclusive Family Alliance who expressed gratitude on behalf of the other beneficiary organisations, said the gesture was important to help them become even more efficient.
“This gesture is significant step in enhancing the visibility of disability advocacy groups,” Mrs Awadzi added.
