Ashaiman, Oct. 28, GNA-The Ashaiman Municipal Assembly (ASHMA), in collaboration with the Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF), has commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop for business owners and entrepreneurs in the Ashaiman municipality to enhance their operational skills and improve access to financial opportunities.
The workshop, which brought together about 30 small- and medium-scale business operators, forms part of the Fund’s initiative to strengthen the capacity of local enterprises and promote sustainable economic growth across the country.
Mr Freeman Tsekpor, the Ashaiman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), commended the Venture Capital Trust Fund for extending the training programme to Ashaiman, saying the platform offered to business owners was part of the government’s commitment to support and empower small businesses to expand and create jobs within their localities.
Mr. Tsekpor noted that the assembly would monitor and evaluate the performance of the beneficiaries after the training to ensure that the knowledge acquired translates into tangible results.
He urged the participants to make the municipality proud by applying the lessons learnt, networking with other entrepreneurs, and working collectively to make Ashaiman economically vibrant.
“The assembly expects every participant here to serve as an ambassador of change by improving your businesses and contributing to our local economy,” he said.
Mr Christian Otu Teye, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Venture Capital Trust Fund, said the training was part of the Fund’s national effort to equip business owners with the requisite knowledge and managerial skills to improve efficiency and productivity.
He explained that several businesses in Ghana required both financial and technical support to remain competitive, hence the decision to organise such workshops across selected municipalities.
“With the support of government, we believe our small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) will thrive, create employment opportunities, and help revive the local economy,” Mr. Teye stated.
He encouraged participants to take the workshop seriously and use the platform to network and explore partnerships that could enhance their business prospects.
The workshop will cover topics such as financial management, marketing, digital entrepreneurship, and access to funding opportunities.
