Ho (V/R), Sept 21, GNA – Sonrise Christian High School, one of the leading private Senior High Schools in the Volta Region, has held its 17th graduation ceremony, presenting its largest graduating class of 236 students.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the school premises in Ho, was themed “Success in Life is Driven by Preparation Meeting Opportunities.”

Delivering the keynote address, Professor Lydia Aziato, Vice Chancellor of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), urged the graduands to pursue success through hard work, integrity, resilience, and technological competence.

She said: “Success does not happen by luck. It comes when people prepare themselves and seize opportunities,” she said, quoting Louis Pasteur: “Chance only favours the mind which is prepared.”

Prof. Aziato encouraged students to remain resilient in the face of setbacks, uphold honesty and integrity in all dealings, embrace digital skills responsibly, and demonstrate humility and respect.

She also emphasised the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and time management, while reminding them to anchor their lives in faith and moral values.

Mr. Joseph Dzamesi, the School Administrator, said Sonrise takes pride in offering holistic and affordable education.

He noted that over 92 per cent of students in the 2024 batch qualified for tertiary education, and that the school continues to excel in competitions such as the National Science and Maths Quiz, Sharks Quiz, and Orators Competition.

He also highlighted Sonrise’s unique innovations, including the introduction of sign language as a core subject, modern academic facilities, a health centre, and a newly constructed tennis court, adding that a state-of-the-art science laboratory would be inaugurated during the school’s 20th anniversary celbrations.

Mr. Frederick Adongo Mahama, Chairman of the Advisory Board, commended the perseverance of the graduating class and expressed gratitude to parents for their support.

On behalf of parents, Mr. Chris Worlanyo Essikpe, PTA Chairman, lauded the students’ growth in academics, morals, and confidence, while encouraging them to shape society positively.

Speaking for the graduating class, Essikpe Elim expressed appreciation to teachers, parents, and the entire Sonrise community for nurturing their academic, spiritual, and personal development.

The event drew teachers, parents, family, and friends in large numbers, who celebrated the milestone achievement of the Class of 2025.
