Paramount Queen-mother commends gov’t for new DVLA office at Bechem

Bechem, (Ahafo), Sept. 27, GNA – Nana Adwoapo Dwamena Serwaa II, the Paramount Queen-mother of the Bechem Traditional Area in the Ahafo Region, has commended the government for opening a new office of the Driver Vehicle and Licensing Authority in the area. 
 
She said the chiefs and people of the area would forever remain grateful to the government, saying, the Bechem Traditional Council had provided land for the DVLA to build its permanent office and enhance service delivery. 
 
Nana Serwaa II gave the commendation when speaking at the inauguration of the DVLA office at Bechem, the capital of the Tano South Municipality. 
 
The Queen-mother said the Council was processing all documentations and would hand-over the land to the Municipal Assembly soon, assuring the council’s commitment to support the government in bringing the development of the municipality to the next level. 
 
She also praised Mr Charles Asiedu, the Member of Parliament for the area for his commitment towards the holistic development of the area. 
 
On his part, Mr Aseidu, the MP said “I promised to ensure that an office of the DVLA is opened here during my 2024 electioneering campaign and that is what you are witnessing today.” 
 
He expressed appreciation to the chiefs and people for the cooperation and support, assuring that he would do everything possible to ensure that the municipality benefitted from its share of the national cake. 
 
Mr Asiedu also commended Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive for his hard work in advancing the development of the area. 
 
Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey, the Chief Executive Officer of the DVLA, advised the personnel of the authority to remain professional in the course of their duties. 
 
He said: “The surest way we can altogether keep our roads safe is discipline.” 

 He urged drivers to endeavour to comply with safety regulations to bring sanity on the road and stem road crashes and needless fatalities.
