Accra, Sept. 4, GNA — KGL Foundation has renovated the Physiotherapy Centre of the Tema General Hospital, giving the facility a facelift and equipping it with modern machinery to improve healthcare delivery.
The project included the procurement of gym equipment, installation of air conditioners, refurbishment of the staff common room and kitchen, and renovation of gym areas.
The entire electrical system was rewired, with new lighting, ceiling replacements, and additional fans installed to enhance safety and comfort for staff and patients.
The renovated facility now provides a more functional and conducive environment for physiotherapy services.
As the main referral centre in the industrial city, the Tema General Hospital also serves nearby communities such as Ashaiman, Afienya, Dawhenya, and Prampram.
Mr. Elliot Dadey, Chief Executive Officer of the KGL Foundation, said the intervention formed part of the Foundation’s commitment to support health delivery in Ghana.
“Healthcare in Ghana remains deeply underfunded, hence the decision to embark on this philanthropic gesture,” he said.

Dr. Richard Anthony, the Medical Director and Consultant General Surgeon at the Tema General Hospital, described the support as timely, noting that it would boost the hospital’s capacity to deliver essential services.
“It will help improve quality of care and reduce the need for patients to travel to Accra for physiotherapy services,” he said.
Management of the hospital expressed appreciation to the KGL Foundation for the intervention, which they said would help improve outcomes for patients and contribute to easing pressure on physiotherapy services in the capital.
Created as the corporate social responsibility arm of the KGL Group, the KGL Foundation seeks to innovate the current system of philanthropy.
It engages various stakeholders from the grassroots to government institutions, collaborating together to create sustainable and meaningful impact.
Through this noble approach, the Group seeks to address the multitude of social and economic issues in this country with the end goal of seeing to it that every Ghanaian has the opportunity to be the architect of their own dreams.
