Dzolokpuita (V/R), Sept. 24, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ho West Constituency, will later this month host the 2025 edition of the Ho West Annual Tech Fest.
The Ho-West Annual Tech-Fest is a 14-day intensive training camp designed to promote technology and innovation among students and young people.
The initiative, scheduled to run from Monday, September 29 to Monday, October 13, 202, will be organised by the Office of the MP in collaboration with Dipper Lab College of Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Cynosol.
Mr. Bedzrah said the programme would aim to boost education, equip participants with practical technology skills, and open opportunities for innovation. “We will continue to invest in our young people because their future is the future of Ho West and Ghana,” he said.
Participants will receive training in basic programming skills including an introduction to HTML, JavaScript, Python, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). They will also be introduced to engineering design through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) using Fusion 360 software.
Another highlight of the camp will be drone piloting and spatial map creation under drone technology training. Virtual Reality (VR) applications will also be explored, focusing on how immersive technologies can be used to re-imagine community tourism.

The programme will further expose participants to digital arts and the creative economy, covering digital art creation and Non-Fungible Token (NFT) trading. Sessions on emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain applications will also be included.
According to the organisers, the camp will not only provide hands-on training but also opportunities for networking, mentorship, and innovation showcasing. At the end of the two weeks, participants will receive certificates of participation.
Mr. Bedzrah said the initiative would remove financial barriers by ensuring that participation is free for all Ho West constituents.
“We want to give every young person an equal chance, regardless of background, to explore the world of technology,” he stressed.
The MP added that participants would receive free teaching and learning materials, souvenirs such as T-shirts, notepads, pens and caps, as well as free accommodation and three-square meals daily. “We want to make this a wholesome experience where learning meets opportunity,” he noted.
He urged parents and guardians to encourage their children to register and take advantage of the opportunity. Registration is currently ongoing online, with details available via a dedicated Google form and WhatsApp contact lines.
Mr. Bedzrah emphasised that the Tech Fest would become a platform for nurturing talent and inspiring innovation in the constituency. “This will not just be an event but a movement to create problem-solvers, innovators, and global thinkers right here in Ho West,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to KNUST and Cynosol for their collaboration and pledged to sustain the annual initiative.
“Our young people will continue to benefit from this programme as long as I remain committed to their development,” he assured.
