Jinijini, (Bono), Sept. 20, GNA – Mr Dickson Kyere Duah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Berekum West constituency in the Bono Region says 20 communities in the area have so far benefited development projects since his assumption as MP.
He said in the past eight months, the communities had benefited from water, educational and health projects and pledged his commitment to do more to tackle the emerging development needs of the constituents.
Mr Duah gave the pledge when he addressed a durbar of chiefs and people of the area when Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboah, the Bono Regional Minister extended his working visit to the constituency.
The MP indicated that several roads in the area had also been captured for reconstruction under the government’s ‘Big Push’ road infrastructure development and advised the people to maintain their confidence in him and the government.
Mr Duah said as a farming area improvement in the road network would open up the constituency for investments, economic progress and thereby spur rapid socio-economic growth and sustainable development.
Mr Akwaboah also indicated that plans were far advanced for a 24-hour market to boost the implementation of the 24-hour economy in the area.
He commended the chiefs and people of the area for providing land for the market project, saying on completion the facility would create additional job opportunities for the people.
Mr Akwaboah said the market project contained a crèche, modern structures, washrooms, police and fire posts and pharmacy to ensure uninterrupted 24-hour operations.
He said a new fire service station would also be constructed in the area soon, saying “the only thing that is left is the chiefs’ and approval and a more suitable site for the facility”.
