Sunyani, (Bono), Sept 12, GNA-The police say calm has returned at Sampa in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region after a violent chieftaincy clash left one person dead and injured several others.Â
According to a statement issued and signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, three police officers sustained gunshot wounds and had since received medical treatment and discharged.Â
Personal properties including residential buildings, and the Sampa Market were also burnt during the renewed chieftaincy clash between the two feuding traditional factions in the area on September 10, 2025.Â
No arrest has been made so far.Â
A copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, said police had commenced investigations, adding that security re-enforcement had been deployed to maintain law and order in the area.Â
