Accra, Aug 29, GNA – The police have secured an injunction against the Teshie Traditional Council and six others to restrain them from holding any form of outdoor event in relation to the Homowo Festival which are not traditional rites.

A court document sighted by the Ghana News Agency said “all outdoor and public events in relation to the Teshie Homowo Festival which are not traditional rites which will compromise public defence, public order, public safety, and public health are hereby restrained from happening.”

This follows some violent clashes that occurred during the sprinkling of the traditional Kpokpoi last Wednesday, August 26, 2025, leading to the death of three persons.

The six others are the Teshie Council of Elders, the Heads of the Gbugblah, Lenshie, Agbawe, Krobo, and Kle Clans.

The injunction restrains them from holding outdoor events tomorrow, August 30, and Sunday, August 31.
