Dambai (O/R) Aug 19, GNA-Nkwanta South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Joseph Awal Antwi, has warned contractors working on abandoned projects in the Municipality against material theft and substandard work.
During a site visit, Mr Antwi assessed the progress of several long-abandoned projects, including roads, chip compounds, schools, and market facilities.
The MCE revealed that he had received reports of material theft by contractors, and emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards and legal regulations.
Mr Antwi urged contractors to prioritize the completion of these projects and refrain from any illegal activities or unprofessionally practices, citing the advice of President John Dramani Mahama.
The MCE outlined a timeline for the completion of the inspected projects, expecting all projects to be finished by September this year.
He announced that the construction of roads and chip compounds would commence immediately, with work beginning before the end of August.
He expressed his dedication to ensuring that all abandoned projects were finalized before the end of 2025, underscoring his commitment to the development and progress of Nkwanta South.
He said any contractor found engaging in material theft or substandard work would face the full rigours of the law.
