Gyankobaa (Ash) Aug 04, GNA – Mr. Wisdom Osei Boamah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya South in the Ashanti Region, has urged the people to show keen interest in the proper sanitation of their environment.
He said environmental sanitation was a responsibility, which required the commitment and support of all stakeholders in the communities to ensure a clean environment at all times.
Speaking after joining community members at Gyankobaa, Nerebehi and Akrofrom to undertake cleanup exercises, Mr. Osei Boamah pointed out that, one’s environment determined his status and dignity in society.
He said a person’s environment portrayed his or her character and faith and also determined whether he or she should be respected or otherwise.
There was, therefore, the need to pay utmost attention to one’s environment.
He said the district assembly under his leadership would remained committed to promote and ensure a cleaner and healthier environment to promote not only the image of the assembly, but the people as well.
He commended the community members for their active participation in the monthly cleanup exercise and said it was a testimony to their determination to promote good health and disease prevention in their areas.


“Let us continue to work together to build the kind of environment that we can all be proud of and I am grateful to everyone who came out to support this initiative”.
In a related development, the MCE appreciated the warm welcome and reception by the people of Apueyem, Nyamebekyere, Kyereyease, Kontomire, Sawua, Asakraka and Adankwame during the climax of his first week “Thank you and community engagement tour on the previous day.
He explained that the development plans of the government was tailored to the aspiration of each of the communities and appealed for the continuous support of the members to achieve the development agenda of the area.
He mentioned agriculture, roads construction, education, electrification and sanitation as top priorities for the communities and said together, they would work to address them.
