Accra, August 28, GNA – As part of efforts to expand school infrastructure, an ultra-modern Administration and Library block has been commissioned for staff and students of Anfoega Senior High School in the Volta Region.
The project, according to officials, started in 2014 but faced some delays until its completion six months ago.
Handing over the ediface, Mr. Ernest Adevor, District Chief Executive for North Dayi, expressed optimism about the potential impact of the project.
The alumnus and former tutor of the school highlighted government’s plan to complete similar projects in other institutions, and thanked stakeholders for making significant contributions.
Anfoega Senior High School Old Students’ Association (ANFOSA) commended Mr. Adevor’s dedication andinvolvement in other developmental initiatives of the institution.
Ms Joycelyn Tetteh, Member of Parliament for North Dayi, was acknowledged for her advocacy and other commitments,leading to the successful completion of the project.
“A staunch supporter of education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development, Hon. Tetteh has consistently championed the growth of Anfoega SHS,” school authorities noted.
They indicated that work on a new dining hall was progressing, and was expected to be completed before the School’s 60th Anniversary celebration in November.
This and related developments are expected to ease the infrastructure burden on the school as student population increased.
Anfoega Senior High School, established in 1965, aims to provide quality education for students from diverse backgrounds, especially those within its catchement area.
The School’s upcoming 60th Anniversary celebrations is themed: “Celebrating 60 Years: The Role of Stakeholders in Providing Quality Education for the 21st Century”.
The Anniversary Committee has estimated GH¢4,000,000 for earmarked projects, which include a facelift of the School’sentrance, development of a standard sports complex, and construction of a modern Home Economics and ICT Block.
