Dr Anthony Baabereyir, the Principal, said the College, with a population of 1,550 and 130 staff, was still struggling with some challenges like inadequate funding, old physical structures including classrooms, laboratories, libraries and residential spaces which needed urgent upgrade.
He appealed to stakeholders, government and its relevant agencies, community leaders and private sectors to go to the aid of the College in the form of financial support, infrastructure development, equipment and scholarships.

The Foso College of Education was established as Fosu Training College in 1965 by the first republican government of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, with a mandate to train teachers for basic schools in Ghana.
However, the Colleges of Education Act, 2012 (Act 847) was passed by the Parliament of Ghana to upgrade existing public Teacher Training Colleges into Colleges of Education with a mandate to offer programmes leading to the award of Diploma in Basic Education.
In September 2018, Foso College of Education joined other Colleges of Education to introduce the four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme.
