Teshie, July 06, GNA – Dr Robert Amesiya, the Greater Accra Regional Director of Health Services, has paid a working visit to the Ledzokuku Health Directorate, as part of a familiarisation tour of the region.
Dr Amesiya was accompanied by the Mr Emmanuel Taadi, the Deputy Director Administration, Dr Farida Abdullai, the Deputy Director of Public Health, and other officials from the regional directorate.
His first point of call was the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly, where he engaged Mr Israel Adjetey Otchwenmah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and Mr Emmanuel Kabu Saint, the Chairperson for the Social Services Sub-committee, and others on promoting efficient health services in the municipality.
Also present were Ms Gifty Ofori Ansah, the Municipal Director of Health Services, and Dr Akua Gyimah Asante, the Medical Superintendent of the Lekma Hospital.
At the Ledzokuku Municipal Health Directorate, he met with staff, as well as those with the Teshie Community Clinic and Camp 2 Health Centre.
The MCE assured the staff of the various health centres of the assembly’s support, stating that he would work with them to rebrand the health service in Ledzokuku.
At the Lekma Hospital, the MCE and the Regional Director took turns, interacting with the hospital staff and answering their questions.
Dr Amesiya explained the four approaches that the Director General of the Ghana Health Services had adopted to reposition the service for efficient health delivery in Ghana.
He praised the management and staff of the hospital for their hard work and encouraged them to be guided by the ethics of the GHS in their day-to-day work, as well as accept feedback for further improvement.
He also commended management for keeping the hospital environment clean to attract clients.
The MCE motivated the staff to put in their best in serving the people and maintaining the good name the hospital had earned over the years.
He reiterated his intention to rebrand Ledzokuku, putting health service delivery as a top priority.
The regional health director, with his entourage after the engagement, toured the hospital facility, going through the emergency and maternity wards, inspected a newly constructed patient toilet facility as well as the liquid oxygen plant that was recently handed over to the hospital by the U.S government.
