Bompata (Ash), July 18, GNA – Maame Sarfoah Appiah, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asante-Akim South, has paid courtesy calls on the Paramount Chiefs of Asuboa, Asankare and Bompata to strengthen ties with traditional authorities for accelerated development.

The visits also formed part of her ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration with traditional leaders as key stakeholders in the development agenda of the municipality.

Accompanied by a delegation from the Municipal Assembly, the MCE was warmly received by the chiefs.

She expressed profound gratitude to the chiefs and their traditional councils for their unwavering support, wise counsel, and cooperation with the Assembly over the years.

The MCE took the opportunity to brief the traditional leaders on ongoing and planned development projects across the municipality, including infrastructure improvement, sanitation initiatives, educational support, and youth empowerment programmes.

She reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive governance and pledged to continue engaging chiefs and other opinion leaders in the identification and resolution of community challenges.

She emphasised that traditional leaders remained vital partners in development with their invaluable knowledge of the local context and influence in their communities.

“I am here not only to show appreciation but also to renew our commitment to working hand-in-hand to improve the lives of our people,” the MCE stated.

The Chiefs, in their respective responses, commended the MCE for her proactive leadership and the various developmental strides the municipality had witnessed under her administration.

They praised her for recognising the traditional authority’s role in governance and pledged their continued support in ensuring peace, unity, and progress within their jurisdictions.

They also used the occasion to share specific concerns and developmental needs of their communities, which the MCE assured them would be given due consideration by the Assembly.
