Accra, July 18, GNA – Mr Teddy Kwei Baddoo, Assembly Member for Abelemkpe in the Ayawaso West Municipality, has appealed to the Government for support in completing development projects initiated by the local community.
Among the key initiatives is the proposed expansion of an existing Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound into a polyclinic to enhance access to healthcare in Abelemkpe and surrounding areas.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mr Baddoo said residents were willing to contribute resources towards the project and called on the Government to assist in completing and operationalising the facility.
“We are appealing to the Municipal Assembly to come to our aid. Our community members are also ready to champion it,” he added.
On Friday, in collaboration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr Baddoo extended the Authority’s Community Outreach Programme to local drivers, making licensing and registration services more accessible.
Services provided included driver’s licence registration, renewal, replacement of lost licences, and other related procedures.
Mr Baddoo explained the initiative was part of broader efforts to decentralise essential services.
“We believe that by bringing the services closer to them they would be able to easily access these essential services,” he said.
He further noted that his office was supporting residents with Health Insurance registration and other social services.

Welcoming Government’s decision to provide monthly stipends to Assembly Members, Mr Baddoo appealed for prompt disbursement to support their community work.
Dr Michael Mensah, Municipal Chief Executive for Ayawaso West, commended Mr Baddoo for his contributions and encouraged other Assembly Members to initiate similar developmental efforts.
He also urged representatives to prioritise sanitation and security in their electoral areas.
Mr Alex Setsoafia Avorkpo, a resident of Abelemkpe, echoed support for communal development and appealed to authorities to improve street lighting in parts of the community to enhance nighttime security.
