Keta (VR), June 6, GNA- One thousand four hundred and ninety-eight candidates from 54 basic schools within the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region are expected to take part in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the area.
The candidates from 42 public and 12 private schools would participate in the final year exams at seven centres, which include KetaBusco, Ketasco, Aborsco, Anyasco, Atiasec, Afiasec, and Kedzi Basic school.
Mr.Ferdinand Amuzu, the Public Relation Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Education Service in Keta, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said that all preparations were underway for a successful and smooth examinations.
“We have put all necessary materials in place to ensure the exercise is successful. This is not our first and we are used to how we can fix things for a smooth exercise.”
He said that Kedzi AME Zion basic school and Ketasco basic B school have the highest representation with 63 candidates each while ‘Day Star Preparatory school presented least candidates of two boys and four girls.
“We have a total number of 720 boys and 778 girls’ candidates from the 54 schools, and my advice to them is that they should stay focus without any form of fear, the exams are just like the normal school exams they use to write.”
He also cautioned all candidates to avoid any form of examination malpractices and strictly abide by the rules and regulations governing the examination to avoid cancellation of the papers, dismissal or any other punishment.
Mr. Amuzu commended all teachers, staff, parents and other stakeholders for the various roles played in preparing the candidates for the exams and urged them to continue guiding the students until the end of the exercise.
The BECE candidates are expected to participate in subjects such as Social Science, Computing, English Language, Career Technology, Ghanaian Language, Mathematics, French, Creative Arts, Religious and Moral Education, Science, and Arabic.
