Wenchi, (Bono), June 14, GNA – The observance the traditional funeral, called One-Week, of the late Nana Atoa Seramangyedua III, the Paramount Queen Mother of Wenchi Traditional Area in the Bono Region has been scheduled July 25, 2025.
Nana Owusu Ameyaw Ababio, the Aamanee (sub-chief) of the Wenchi Traditional Council, told the media in an interview at Wenchi that the ceremony would be held at the Forecourt of the Wenchi Palace.
The late queen-mother died Friday June 13, 2025, after a short illness. She was 95 years old and reigned 48 years after her enrolment on January 7, 1977.
Nana Ababio, also the Abusuapanyin (Family Head) of the Ahenfie Yefiri Royal Family, said as required by tradition, everybody in the traditional area was expected to wear black or red attire until further notice.
