Accra, June 12, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional branch of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) will commence its legal clinics and prisons outreach programme on July 3, 2025.
The outreach will take place at Efua Sutherland Park, Ashaiman Lorry Station, and Nsawam Prisons.
“We are not forgetting our brothers and sisters in Nsawam Prisons,” said Ms. Isabel Boaten, President of the Regional Bar, at the launch of the 2025 Law Week.
The Law Week, scheduled for July 2–5, 2025, is on the theme: “The Future-Fit Lawyer: Enhancing Technology, Entrepreneurship, Excellence and Service to the Community.”
Ms. Boaten said the legal clinics would serve as a platform to build sustainable access to justice.
“Our legal week serves as pivot to build a more sustainable platform for access to justice.
“Lawyers will offer free legal support to the public and underserved communities, reaffirming the Bar’s commitment to justice and service,” she stated.
Ms. Boaten noted that the theme highlighted the evolving demands of the legal profession and the need to equip practitioners to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
“The theme was not intended only to highlight the changing demands of the legal profession, but more importantly how to equip practitioners with the tools to thrive in a fast-changing world,” she said.

On July 2, the Bar will hold a full-day conference featuring three Continuing Legal Education sessions.
These sessions will explore global trends toward 2030, the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the legal landscape, and the future of legal work.
“The conference would also see how lawyers would leverage AI for efficiency and greater value instead of being rendered otiose and fossilized,” she stated.
“We are going to think through the skill set, attitudes and mindset that will empower lawyers to stay relevant…The agenda is not only to build a legion of great lawyers, but great lawyers who will pay it forward by growing other lawyers with intentionality.
“We are going to be awakened to a deeper consciousness about our roles in access to justice for all and how we can explore the innovation of our tech-savvy young lawyers to increase access to justice,” she said.
Ms. Boaten said the Regional Bar would partner with the Legal Aid Commission to strengthen legal aid services.
She noted that lawyers would pledge to offer pro bono services, launch or support tech-enabled legal outreach, and collaborate to expand access to justice.
The Law Week will end with a dinner dance and networking event on July 5, which is expected to provide an opportunity for members in private practice, legal departments, and academia to connect.
