Accra, June 25, GNA – The Chief Executive Officer, Dansika, Fugue Batakari Cultural Festival UK, Her Royal Highness Tinmalego Pognaba Helene Adonkolgo Barnabas, has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Director, National Commission on Culture (NCC), Mr. Wakefield Ackuaku.
The visit was to express heartfelt appreciation to the Commission for the vital role it played during the successful launch of the Dansika Fugue Batakari Cultural Festival UK Homecoming, held at the Centre for National Culture in Kumasi.
As a token of gratitude, HRH Barnabas also presented the official magazine of the festival to the Commission.
In her remarks, she shared the inspiration behind the festival, describing it as more than just a showcase of traditional Batakari smocks.
“This platform was envisioned to uplift communities, empower artisans, and build a legacy that resonates across generations and continents,” she said.
Emphasizing the importance of cultural identity in an ever-changing world, she noted, “As the world evolves, holding onto our roots becomes more essential than ever.”
HRH Barnabas noted that the Batakari, with its intricate patterns and bold symbolism, tells timeless stories of resilience, unity, and pride.
“Through the festival, these stories are being told not only in Ghana but also on international stages.”
Mr. Wakefield Ackuaku,  Executive Director NCC, expressed his gratitude for the visit and commended HRH Barnabas for her dedication to promoting Ghanaian culture globally.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to future collaborations that celebrate and preserve Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
