Accra, May 24,GNA- The National Association of Unit Committee Members of Ghana (NAUCMG), in collaboration with the La Nkwantang Madina Municipal Assembly, will undertake a community-wide clean-up exercise in Madina on May 31, 2025.
In a press release copied to the Ghana News Agency, the Association said the initiative aimed to foster a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents.
Participants are expected to converge at Madina Zongo Junction by 7:00 AM to kick off the clean-up operation.
The exercise has several key objectives which include efforts to clean and promote waste management, including a massive clean-up operation across Madina.
It will also raise environmental awareness, educating the community on the importance of environmental conservation, and foster community spirit, encouraging collective responsibility for a cleaner Ghana.
The initiative seeks to educate the local people and beyond, on waste separation and monetization, teaching citizens how to separate plastic bottles and sachet water from wet and organic rubbish for collection, and how these materials can be monetized.
With rainy season in full swing, a primary goal is to prevent flooding and protect life and property, mitigating flooding and resource waste.
Beyond the clean-up itself, the event will also feature health screenings for participants.
