Tema, May 31, GNA-The Star Old Students Association (SOSA), has held an empowering session to motivate and equip Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of the Star Basic School in Tema.

Members of SOSA engaged the BECE candidates on various topics, including digital Skills for a smarter future, Pursuit of excellence, Potentials, Overcoming examination fears, and the Next stage after school.

Madam Rose Nkrumah, the Deputy Director of Human Resource at the Ledzokuku Municipal Education Directorate, advised the candidates to be determined and prepared to approach the exams with a strong will to succeed.

She emphasized the need for them to pray and seek guidance and strength from God to serve as a source of comfort, stress reduction, and help maintain a positive mindset during their examination.

She told the candidates to keep their goals in sight and remember their reasons for studying and what they hope to achieve to stay motivated and committed, even when faced with challenges.

Madam Nkrumah encouraged them to surround themselves with people who support their goals and encourage their efforts, stressing that “Avoid negative influences that may distract or discourage you.”

Mr Justice Nyankom, a Child Development Specialist and an old student at the Star Basic School, encouraged the candidates to stay disciplined, work hard, and have confidence in their abilities, reminding them that success is achieved through dedication and perseverance.

Madam Julia Acquah, also an old student, advised the candidates to prioritised academic growth, explaining that discipline and commitment to learning were much more important than merely achieving good exam results.

She emphasised the importance of financial independence, reminding the candidates that building wealth after school begins with hard work, smart choices, and creativity.

Mrs Felicia Akpene Dogbe, Headmistress of Star Basic School, commended the teachers and candidates for their effort in growing and guiding the candidates.
