KATH governing board calls on Otumfuo, introduces new CEO

Kumasi, May 25, GNA – The members of the governing board of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), have paid a courtesy call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene at the Manhyia Palace. 

The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). Dr Paa Kwesi Baidoo to the occupant of the Golden Stool. 

Dr Paa Kwesi Baidoo, a distinguished orthopedic surgeon, took the opportunity to outline some of the pressing challenges that the hospital was currently facing.  

He cited challenges such as ward congestion, unattended visitors’ rooms, and the critical need for expansion and expressed his commitment towards effectively addressing these challenges. 

The CEO further assured the governing board that he would take proactive measures to improve the overall functioning of the hospital. 

The Asantehene, known for his wisdom and guidance, offered his blessings and unwavering support to the board and the new CEO. 

The board members present during the meeting included Professor Nana Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, the Chairman of the Board, Annis Maghter, Samuel A. Otoo, Susan Yaa Afram, Prof. A. Antwi Kusi, Prof. Emmanuel Obeng-Agyemang, Dr Eric Addisson, Ibrahim Asante-Manu, Kwadwo Gyabeng, and Chrissie Abaidoo.  

The collective expertise and experiences of these board members are expected to contribute significantly to the continued success and growth of KATH. 

The meeting between the governing board, led by Dr Baidoo, and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was a pivotal moment in the hospital’s journey towards addressing key challenges and fostering development.
