Juaboso (WN/R), May 26, GNA – The Juaboso District Assembly in collaboration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) is set to embark on mass registration of tricycles and motorcycles in the district.

Mr Alexander Adu Quist, the Juaboso District Chief Executive (DCE), speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency said the registered motorcycles and tricycles would be given different number plates to differentiate them from the normal vehicles to help generate revenue for the Assembly.

He added that registering them in the district would help both the DVLA and the Assembly to have accurate data on the number of tricycles, motorbikes, and their riders.

The DCE stated that it would not only be registration, but also an avenue to roll out comprehensive training programmes on road safety for them.

Mr Quist said the registration would involve badges to be pasted on their bikes to show that both the Assembly and the DVLA had officially approved them for use.

He urged owners of tricycles and motorcycles to present the necessary documents for easy registration.
