Accra, May 7, GNA – The IPMC University College has commended the Government for introducing the One Million Coders Programme to equip Ghanaian youth with employable skills in the wake of the Artificial Intelligence revolution.
The technology training institution said the government’s programme aligned with its vision to empower Ghanaian youth with essential digital skills and to promote digital solutions for the transformation of businesses as its contribution to the growth of the Ghanaian economy.
Mr Gaurav Sharda, Director, IPMC University College, made the remarks at a programme to officially announce the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into all of its programmes at no extra cost to students.
The Director said the move was intended to prepare students not just for the job market of today, but for the digital economy of tomorrow.
Mr Sharda said the vision of IPMC was to transform Ghana into an AI-powered nation and pledged the support of IPMC to integrate AI in the training models for the One Million Coders Programme to enhance the employability of beneficiaries.
“Let me be clear: AI is not replacing creativity, critical thinking, or problem-solving — it is amplifying it. At IPMC, we are ensuring that every student becomes AI-literate, AI-skilled, and AI-confident,” he said.
As part of the introduction of AI into its programmes, the IPMC organised a free course in AI for personnel from diverse public and private institutions such as the Police, Military, Prisons, Customs, and the Ghana Revenue Authority.
The course formed part of measures to support Ghana’s workforce to develop their digital skills particularly in emerging technologies to boost service delivery and contribute to national development.

Chief Inspector Christiana Akpene Darkey, Cybercrime Investigator and Digital Forensic Analyst, said the training had exposed her to the dynamics in AI and how she could adopt AI in her analytical and forensic works.
Major Obed Asante, Systems Analyst at Army General Headquarters, said the participants underwent hands-on practical lessons in AI tools, adding that the training was timely and purposeful.
Mr Asadullah, Enterprise Business Manager, IPMC Technology Centre, said the institution was positioned to support the development of AI professionals in Ghana and urged the youth to take advantage of the opportunity to enhance their employability in the digital market.
He assured that the school would continue to rollout transformative programmes that would respond to global market demands and opportunities.
