Sunyani, (Bono), March 14, GNA – It was nostalgic and emotional moment, when some old student of the Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) paid a courtesy on a former House Master of the school, Mr John Asare Baiden.

Mr Baidan, a former house master of the ‘SUSEC PD Quartey House’ could not hide his joy when he welcomed visitors led by Mr Ransford Antwi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Suncity Groups of Companies at his private residence in Sunyani.

The old students, including Mr Martin Kwame Asare, the Deputy Regional Commander of National Investigation Bureau (NIB) and Professor Kwame Adom shared old time vibes and memories.

They later presented undisclosed sums of money to support the upkeep of the aged former house master, popularly known as “Ojoe.”

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Antwi, also an Independent Candidate in the Sunyani East Constituency in the Election 2024 stressed the need to be kind and supportive “to our school teachers who have made us who we are”.

“We have to break the old saying that teachers’ rewards are in heaven and support them while they are still alive. We would rather be ingrate if we allow our life coaches and guidance to struggle at the time they need our support.”

“We thought Ojoe was being hard on us in the school days, not knowing that his disciplinary tactics were rather building us for a great future,” Mr Antwi stated.

“In fact, it was such a beautiful moment to behold. Anyone who thinks that a teacher’s reward is in Heaven should begin to revise his/her notes,” he stated.

Mr/Mrs Baiden expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the old students, urging them to do that regularly, saying their coming had inspired and made him happy.
