Kadjebi (O/R), March 21, GNA – Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has called on the revenue collectors and technocrats at the Kadjebi District Assembly to help mobilise enough Internally Generated Funds (IGF) for the district’s rapid development.
He stated that the over-reliance on the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF) was doing more harm than good to the assembly and emphasized that the district had more taxable revenue-generating activities that needed to be explored.
Mr Gyapong, made these statements during a meeting with the Kadjebi District Assembly staff at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

The Regional Minister blamed the technocrats of the Assembly for not working hard enough to generate sufficient funds for the Assembly, as markets and ratable property abound in the district for levying.
“No exchange for fish, no yam, no cocoyam collections instead of payment”, he admonished. “Let us work hard to project Kadjebi on the world map as one of the best-performing districts in Ghana”, he added.
Mr. Gyapong, a 74-year-old native of Kadjebi, said he wanted to leave a legacy in Kadjebi and thus urged the natives of the district to help him succeed.
Rev. Harry Nii Kwatei Owoo, the Oti Regional Co-ordinating Director, who introduced the Regional Minister to the staff, said his visit was to gather first-hand information on the challenges confronting the District and how best to solve them.He urged the staff to work with dexterity, tact, and diligence for the progress of the district.
Mr. Cletus Chevure, the Kadjebi District Co-ordinating Director, commended the Regional Minister for the visit and appealed to him to ensure that Kadjebi receives its share of the national cake.
