GTA Deputy CEO rallies support for Black Stars ahead of Chad encounter

Accra, March 20, GNA – Mr Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has rallied support for the Black Stars ahead of the crucial encounter against Chad.

Ghana’s Black Stars will resume their quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup when they come up against Les Sao of Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Speaking to the press on a visit to Accra Sports Stadium, Mr Aggrey indicated that sports tourism remains a critical component of the tourism business, and that they would engage all stakeholders to maximise on its enormous prospects.

“The GTA and the National Sports Authority have partnered to ensure that the stadium is well branded to market Ghana to the rest of the world.

“Sports is part of tourism, and we have to capitalise on the opportunities in the sector, so I entreat all fans to join us on Friday as we support the Black Stars to victory.

“Our voices will lift the Black Stars to victory, and together, we will carry Ghana’s pride to the World Cup. This is our heritage, our time, our glory,” said Mr Aggrey.

The Black Stars are currently joint top of Group I with nine points together with Comoros, while Chad has zero points, having lost all their four matches.

The highly anticipated Ghana-Chad clash will start at 1900 hrs at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
